Kenny targets Premiership

Paddy Kenny has set his sights on helping Sheffield United get into The Premiership.

Sheffield United goalkeeper Paddy Kenny has set his sights on helping the side to The Premiership.

Kenny pledged his future to the club last week by signing a new deal at Bramall Lane and he is delighted to be staying at the Championship leaders.

"On a personal note, I'm delighted to have signed the new contract," said Kenny.

"I love this club and I'm determined to help us into The Premiership."

The Blades saw their lead at the top of the table cut to one point after being held to a 2-2 draw at home to Millwall, but Kenny insists they will recover from the setback.

"We had to dig deep just to get a point," added Kenny. "It was a tough match. But we can't go out and win every time.

"It was very disappointing not to pick up all three points, but we'll bounce straight back.

"We haven't played for two weeks because of the international break and maybe that showed.

"There's not much to choose between any of the sides in this division and they're all going to be difficult for us to beat.

"We've got to take each game as it comes and not look too far ahead."
