Kenny's injury miracle

Sheffield Utd's Paddy Kenny is still unsure how he recovered from his hamstring injury.

Sheffield United goalkeeper Paddy Kenny has revealed he's still not fully sure how he recovered from a hamstring injury within a week.

The Republic of Ireland international played in his country's humiliating 5-2 defeat away against Cyprus during the international break.

But he picked up a hamstring strain on the flight back to Dublin, and consequently missed out on the team's 1-1 draw with group leaders Czech Republic at Lansdowne Road.

Kenny made a miraculous recovery to play for The Blades just three days later in their 0-0 draw away against Manchester City though, and even he was left stunned by the dramatic turnaround.

"Every time I walked my hamstring was pulling. I had it massaged and scanned, but there didn't seem to be anything wrong," Kenny explained.

"After returning to United, at one point my back cracked and I've not felt anything since. I was told it might have been a trapped nerve in my back that was affecting my hamstring."

Kenny looks set to start again for United as the South Yorkshire outfit take on Everton away in their next Premiership fixture on Saturday.
