Addicks set for Flamini move

Charlton are reported to be close to completing the signing of Marseille midfielder Mathieu Flamini as they continue their plans for next season.

Addicks boss Alan Curbishley is working hard in the transfer market to bolster his squad and has already brought in Dennis Rommedahl, Stephan Andersen and Bryan Hughes.

Charlton and Everton have been tracking Flamini, but it appears the London side are leading the chase for the 20-year-old.

Flamini is considering his options as he has yet to sign a first professional contract with Marseille.

Marseille are keen to keep the player at Stade Velodrome, but have warned the player they will not be held to ransom by his demands.

Currbishley has admitted that he expects a new arrival at The Valley this week and that man could be Flamini.
