Spireites land Campbell-Ryce

Chesterfield have landed Charlton starlet Jamal Campbell-Ryce on loan.

Chesterfield have won the race to land Charlton Athletic starlet Jamal Campbell-Ryce on a month's loan.

The 21-year-old, who rejected a similar move to have a second loan spell with League Two side Leyton Orient, will come in to boost Roy McFarland's injury-hit first team squad.

Campbell-Ryce spent time on loan last season with Wimbledon and the winger will look to help the North Derbyshire club during his four-week stay.

Wayne Allison, Kevin Dawson and Steve Blatherwick are all out of the Spireites' squad while captain Mark Hudson is also an injury doubt.

McFarland was pleased with his capture of Campbell-Ryce.

"The injuries have tipped my hand so I am pleased that Jamal Campbell-Ryce has agreed to join us for a month to help supplement the squad," McFarland told the club's official website.
