Young in fitness fillip

Charlton defender Luke Young has been handed an injury boost after returning to light training.

Young's chances of being fit for this summer's World Cup finals looked in doubt after he picked up an ankle injury earlier this month.

The full back has missed Charlton's last five games with the problem and he feared he would be sidelined for the World Cup.

However, Young has made a quicker than expected recovery and Addicks boss Alan Curbishley is hopeful he may return in time for the last game of the season against Manchester United.

"Luke has started jogging. He may get back for the Manchester United game," said Curbishley.
