Rommedahl: It's going well

Dennis Rommedahl feels luck has deserted Charlton Athletic so far this season.

Iain Dowie has made a disappointing start to his tenure at The Valley, with his side losing five of their six Premiership matches.

But Danish winger Rommedahl, who has been a key figure under Dowie, feels the team's results are not a fair reflection of the performances.

"Sometimes in football, you need a bit of luck," Rommedahl told Sky Sports News.

"I don't think we've played that bad, we've been on top in most of the games, we just haven't scored.

"Maybe it's difficult to adjust to the new players and we have to know them better, their way of playing and their strengths and weaknesses - all these kinds of things.

"I think it's going really well."

Rommedahl was only a fringe player under Dowie's predecessor Alan Curbishley, but he does not believe the two managers are vastly different.

He added: "He (Dowie) has his way of how he wants to train and the way he wants to play football.

"It's a little bit different from the way Alan wanted to do it.

"At the end of the race, it's 11 players out on the pitch and they have to do it, and that's not that different."

Charlton face Arsenal this weekend looking to improve on their solitary league win, with Rommedahl hoping for a positive outcome.

He concluded: "Everybody can still beat Arsenal. On a good day, we can beat Arsenal, but we need a good day and them maybe not such a good day.

"I think they are the best passing team in the league, in my eyes, with their combination football and we have to stop that."
