Walton makes Rangers move

QPR have completed a busy day in the transfer market by signing Simon Walton.

Queens Park Rangers have completed a busy day in the transfer market by signing Simon Walton from Charlton.

Walton is John Gregory's third signing in the last 24 hours following the arrivals of Ben Sahar and Lee Camp.

Rangers have paid Charlton £200,000 for former Leeds youngster Walton.

Walton, who spent most of last season on loan at Ipswich and Cardiff, has pledged to give his all to Rangers in the new season.

"I'm glad it's all sorted out. I've already played five full games during pre-season with Charlton so I feel fresh and I'm raring to go," Walton told the club's official website.

"I like to put my foot in as a player and give my all for the team. I'd run through a brick wall if asked to.

"I might not play well every week but I will always give 100 per cent."

Meanwhile, Charlton have moved to fill the void left by Walton's departure by signing Dean Sinclair from Barnet.

Charlton agreed a compensation deal with Barnet earlier this week and Sinclair has put the finishing touches to his move to The Valley.

Sinclair has penned a three-year deal at Charlton and Addicks boss Alan Pardew believes the 22-year-old will prove a valuable addition to the squad.

"He's a good take for us and the challenge for him is to improve technically and get into the first team," Pardew told the club's official website.

"If he does that then we could have a very good player on our hands."
