King shows no Hornets fear

Marlon King insists Watford have nothing to fear on their return to The Premiership.

Marlon King insists Watford have nothing to fear as they gear up for their return to The Premiership.

Last season's top goalscorer at Vicarage Road has been enthused by the club's pre-season exertions and is confident they can take such form into the new campaign.

Watford are widely expected to struggle upon their return to the top flight but former Gillingham front man King is confident they can prove their detractors wrong.

Watford earned a credible 1-1 with Italian giants Internazionale in a recent friendly and having grabbed his side's goal, King is in a confident frame of mind.

''We learnt against Milan that we don't have to fear anyone,'' said King.

''We are not going into the Premiership just to make up the numbers.

''We want to be a force. The teams that stayed up last year, Wigan and West Ham, believed and showed no fear.

''We aim to do the same. If I can score against them I can score in The Premiership.''
