Birmingham midfielder Muzzy Izzet will be out of action for a month after undergoing knee surgery.Blues boss Steve Bruce revealed last week that Izzet required knee surgery after breaking down in training earlier this month.
Izzet will miss the busy festive period and Bruce feels the summer signing has been unlucky since his arrival at St Andrews.
"Muzzy has been unlucky with injuries since he came here, and he has only started five league games for us," said Bruce.
"He went in for an operation to have the knee cleared out, and with keyhole surgery you are looking at three to four weeks before you can return to playing.
"We just hope that once Muzzy gets back from this he can have an injury-free run because we all know that he is a quality player as shown over many seasons with Leicester."
