DJ delight at Blues move

DJ Campbell cannot believe how quickly his life has turned around.

New Birmingham signing DJ Campbell has revealed his astonishment at how quickly his life has turned around.

The 24-year-old was playing for non-league Yeading until last summer, at the same time as holding down a full-time job.

After being snapped up by League One side Brentford, the striker produced a series of eye-catching displays, most notably against Sunderland in the FA Cup last Saturday, to earn himself a shock move to The Premiership.

A possible Blues debut against Arsenal looms this weekend, leaving Campbell in dreamland.

"It's great to be here but I can't believe it's happened," he told Sky Sports News.

"That's life I suppose. One minute I'm working and the next I'm in The Premiership.

"I thought my chance had gone but (Brentford manager) Martin Allen took a chance on me and it paid off and now Birmingham are taking a chance on me and hopefully this will pay off.

"I know it's all coming thick and fast for me but I've just got to take things as they come. If I do get the chance to sit on the bench (against Arsenal) and maybe get five or ten minutes I will take it with both hands. It is crazy to be playing against them."
