Arca wants big season next year

JULIO ARCA has dismissed rumours that he will be leaving Sunderland at the end of the season, after returning to Wearside following his recovery from a groin injury.

The Argentine winger returned home to be treated for the groin problem and is determined to have a much better season with The Black Cats.

Peter Reid's side are still in relegation trouble going into their final match of the season on Saturday against Derby County.

They need a result at Stadium of Light and hope Liverpool beat Ipswich to keep them up next season.

Should Sunderland be successful against The Rams, Arca has stated his desire to improve on what has been a dismal season for him and the club.

Arca said: "It has been a frustrating time for me. I'm looking forward to getting myself right and hopefully I can have a big season next year."
