Collins joy at Wolves switch

Neill Collins is hoping his loan move to Wolves will help his Sunderland career.

Neill Collins is hoping his loan move to Wolves will help him stake a claim for a more regular starting role when he returns to Sunderland.

The 23-year-old defender secured a two-month deal on Thursday, and will link up once again at Molineux with former Black Cats boss Mick McCarthy.

Collins is thrilled that Roy Keane gave him the opportunity to go out and prove himself, and he is looking to show what he can do in central defence.

"Central defence is my position but I have played at right back under Roy," he said.

"I spoke to him about wanting to establish myself as a first-team regular at centre half and about the possibility of going out on loan.

"He understood I wanted to be more involved, so when the chance to join up with Mick again came along I was delighted he said I could go."
