Bantams loan ends for Doyle

Nathan Doyle has ended his loan with Bradford City and returned to Derby County.

Nathan Doyle has ended his loan with Bradford City and returned to parent club Derby County.

The 19-year-old midfielder, who has been with Colin Todd's side since the start of the season, returns to The Rams after injuring knee ligaments in the Boxing Day home defeat to Yorkshire rivals Doncaster Rovers.

Doyle is facing up to three months on the sidelines with the injury, with the news coming as a blow to The Bantams as the midfielder looked set to remain with the West Yorkshire outfit for the rest of the season.

"He has been assessed and at the moment they are talking six weeks out - but he is going for a scan and it might end up eight to 12 weeks," Todd told the Bradford Telegraph & Argus.

"He would have been staying with us, because I'd had permission to take him, but now we have to look at the length of injury and that's not going to happen."
