St Ledger concern for PNE

Preston will monitor the fitness of Sean St Ledger this week after he suffered a head injury.

Preston will monitor the fitness of Sean St Ledger this week, after the defender suffered a head injury playing against Coventry on Tuesday.

St Ledger took a knock against The Sky Blues and was substituted for Kelvin Wilson.

North End will continue to assess St Ledger, but manager Paul Simpson believes the Northern Ireland international's replacement is an able deputy if the injured party is forced on to the sidelines for any period of time.

"(St Ledger) got a whack on his head and he was having blurred vision in his left eye and he was a bit concerned about it," said Simpson.

"I thought Kelvin did really well at centre-half. He showed real composure, good defending, good pace and again that's good reward for Kelvin for looking after himself while he's been out of the side.

"He's been doing things right and keeping his fitness up."
