Robson challenges Earnshaw

Bryan Robson has challenged Robert Earnshaw to fight for his future.

West Brom boss Bryan Robson has challenged Robert Earnshaw to prove he deserves more first-team opportunities.

Earnshaw is unhappy at not playing regularly at The Hawthorns and handed in a transfer request last week which was rejected by the club.

Robson insists the Welshman is part of his plans and has called on him to fight for his future.

"He will get his chance when Kanu and Diomansy Kamara go away to the African Nations Cup - or if they suffer a dip in form - and it is up to him to take it," said Robson.

"He is contracted to play football for the club for two-and-a-half more years and that is what he has got to do.

"He has got to prove he deserves a place in the team. I have told him that this is the situation and he's accepted it. He has said nothing about it."
