Davies: Lesson learnt

Curtis Davies insists West Brom learnt a harsh lesson from their recent defeat to Sunderland.

The highly-rated central defender feels The Baggies just turned up expecting win against The Black Cats - but instead suffered a shock 1-0 loss.

They have bounced back well, securing a point at Charlton, and victory over Blackburn - and Davies believed the defeat to Sunderland acted as a wake-up-call.

"We realise we can't just expect to turn up and win," he said.

"To be honest we didn't deserve to win the game against Sunderland and we are not fooling ourselves.

"Maybe that game has made us stronger and, against teams we're expected to beat, we have to realise it's not just going to happen for us. We have to work for it and hopefully we can sort that out on Saturday."
