Watson seals Owls switch

Steve Watson has sealed a permanent move to Sheff Wed from West Brom.

Steve Watson has sealed a permanent move to Sheffield Wednesday from West Bromwich Albion.

The experienced Watson has signed a two-year contract at Hillsborough after joining on a free transfer.

He made 11 appearances on loan for the Owls last season before being recalled by West Brom for the closing weeks of the campaign.

Brian Laws was keen to bring the utility man back to the club and is happy to have finalised a deal for the 33-year-old.

"I am delighted to get Steve Watson back to Sheffield Wednesday," Laws told the club's official website.

"His experience, knowledge and quality showed in abundance during his loan spell here and I believe he is an excellent signing for us.

"I think he has the quality that we need and his presence here will help the young players and bring them through because Steve is very good in the dressing with his knowledge of the game."
