Plymouth manager Ian Holloway praised the performance of Stoke City goalkeeper Steve Simonsen after the 1-1 draw at Home Park.Simonsen pulled of a remarkable save to deny The Pilgrims' on-loan striker Kevin Gallen the chance to make it 2-0 on 54 minutes.
Stoke then came back into the match and levelled through Darel Russell but Holloway cites the save by Simonsen as the turning point in the game.
He said: "The defining moment was when Kev went through and their keeper made a good save.
"If the ball would have run cleanly maybe he could have got that sharper finish on it, which was what he needed.
"As for their goal, we should not give someone a free shot at our goal from six yards out - he slotted it in the roof of the net, it was a decent finish.
"The game was a bit of a much of a muchness wasn't it? There was not a lot to electrify us."
Stoke boss Tony Pulis saw Salif Diao's chance as the best in the match, and thought his side could have won if the midfielder had taken the opportunity.
"I felt that Diao's was the best chance of the game and he's headed it straight into Luke's hands.
"If he had met it with more power, side on, then you never know, it might have been the winner because he was only six yards out.
"We had a couple of chances like that, Paterson had a good chance as well in the second half and so did (Mamady) Sidibe in the first.
"We are having a smashing season and we will not be giving up on the play-offs yet.
"I am still desperately keen to make everybody aware that we have still got a great chance."
