Division Two Round-Up

Plymouth Argyle extended their lead at the top of Division Two thanks to a 1-0 win at home to Blackpool, while second place Brighton fell to a 1-0 defeat at home to Stockport County.

Bottom side Rushden & Diamonds fell to a 3-2 defeat at home to Wrexham while promotion-chasing Bournemouth, Port Vale, Barnsley, QPR and Hartlepool were are held.

Argyle extended their lead at the top to three points as Marino Keith (pictured) grabbed the winner at Home Park against Blackpool to complete a superb week for The Pilgrims.

Second placed Brighton lost ground on the leaders as Aaron Wilbraham grabbed the winner for Stockport County 11 minutes from time at The Withdean Stadium.

Paul Kitson grabbed a brace for basement side Rushden & Diamonds at Nene Park, but they still fell to defeat at the hands of Wrexham as Carlos Edwards, Darren Ferguson and Hector Sam made it 3-2 to the Welshmen.

Scott Vernon gave Oldham the lead at Boundary Park after half an hour of their game against Bournemouth, but Warren Feeney notched on the stroke of half time to earn a point for the third placed Cherries.

Darren Currie gave struggling Wycombe the lead at Hartlepool but Michael Barron gave the home side a point with his strike as they sit just a place outside the play-off places.

Bristol City and Sheffield Wednesday played out a 1-1 draw at Ashton Gate as Lee Peacock struck to cancel out Adam Proudlock's opener for The Owls.

Notts County continue to try and dig themselves out of trouble as goals from Clive Platt and Darren Caskey gave them a 2-0 win over Brentford at Meadow Lane.

QPR remain unbeaten at home in the league this season but only after Kevin Gallen's goal had cancelled out Simon Haworth's early opener for visiting Tranmere Rovers.

Luton Town took the lead at home to Peterborough thanks to Adrian Forbes' strike after 29 minutes, but Ian Hillier was then dismissed for a professional foul and Leon McKenzie struck just after the hour to rescue a point for The Posh.

Chesterfield remain deep in trouble at the foot of the table after they fell to a 1-0 defeat away at Colchester with Wayne Andrews grabbing the winner after just six minutes.
