League One round-up

Sheff Wed lifted themselves into fourth in League One as Swindon also won at home.

Sheffield Wednesday lifted themselves into fourth in League One as Swindon Town moved on to the fringes of the play-off zone.

The Owls came from behind to earn a 2-1 victory at home to struggling Peterborough United, while Swindon secured a narrow 1-0 success at home to Port Vale.

The Posh are languishing second from bottom in the table but took a surprise lead at Hillsborough on 21 minutes when Wayne Purser headed in Curtis Woodhouse's corner.

But Wednesday were level on 36 minutes when Steven MacLean thumped home a penalty after he had been felled by Mark Arber.

The winning goal arrived on 52 minutes as Graeme Lee's cross from the right flank was headed home by Paul Heckingbottom.

At The County Ground, Swindon moved to within a point of the top six after seeing off Port Vale in gritty fashion.

Michael Proctor - on loan from Rotherham United - marked his Robins debut with the only goal on 25 minutes after he finished low from Sam Parkin's pass.
