Cardiff City are taking their former manager Malky Mackay to court in a £10m damages claim case.
The Championship club have lodged a claim of dishonest conspiracy against Mackay, former director of football Iain Moody and three agents - David Manasseh, Rob Segal and John Inglis.
Cardiff claim the five men conspired to defraud the club in 2013 over Steven Caulker's £8.5m transfer from Tottenham and Peter Odemwingie's £2.5m transfer from West Brom.
The High Court in London is to decide whether the claim will be heard in open court or at a private tribunal.
But speaking after being confirmed as the Scottish FA's new performance director, Mackay said he 'categorically denied any wrongdoing'.
Addressing the media at Hampden Park, the 44-year-old, who also had spells in charge of Watford and Wigan, said: "This is something that has come up in the last three jobs I have gone for. Same article, same person.
"It was something I had spoken to Stewart (Regan, SFA chief executive) about , it was something my legal advisors had advised the SFA at an early basis and I categorically deny that I have done anything wrong there.
"There is no shred of evidence against me, but I do respect the legal process."
