Gabbidon signs new Cardiff deal

Daniel Gabbidon has signed an extension to his current contract at Cardiff City.

Wales international Daniel Gabbidon has signed an extension to his current contract at Cardiff City.

The 25-year old defender signed from West Brom for £800,000 in September 2000 and has since gone on to make 178 appearences for The Bluebirds.

Gabbidon has become a regular fixture at centre back for both club and country, although he is versatile and has the ability to play anywhere across the back four.

The news comes as a tonic to the Ninian Park faithful, who have seen their side make a poor start to the season as they lie second from bottom in The Championship table.

Cardiff will be looking to make amends for their defeat at Burnley last time when they take on Leeds United at home on Saturday.
