Agent: Chopra has a price

Michael Chopra's agent has confirmed there is a release clause in his client's contract.

Michael Chopra's agent has confirmed there is a release clause in his client's contract, should Cardiff receive a fee which matches a figure thought to be in the region of £3.75million.

The former Newcastle striker has enjoyed an excellent season at Ninian Park, with his 22 goals having attracted attention from further up the football pyramid.

Everton and Manchester City have in recent weeks been linked with an approach for the talented front-man, with agent Simon Bayliff having confirmed his player's contractual situation at Cardiff.

"Michael is allowed to negotiate his release from Cardiff should a certain offer be made to the club from a Premiership club," he told the Daily Star.

"I am not in the business of promoting my client's business via the media but I will say that the figure that releases Chopra has been slighted increased under his recently completed contract."
