Pilgrims make Gallen offer

Ian Holloway is 'very, very hopeful' that Kevin Gallen will join Plymouth Argyle.

Gallen has been offered a one-year contract at Home Park after being released by Queens Park Rangers at the end of last season.

The seasoned striker had finished the campaign on loan at Plymouth and Holloway is keen to add Gallen to his squad for next term.

The Pilgrims boss has held talks with the forward and is now waiting to discover if the club's offer will be accepted.

"I'm very, very hopeful indeed that Kevin will sign for us," Holloway told the Herald.

"I talked to his agent a couple of days ago and then spoke to the board of directors. I'm delighted they have agreed to support me in this.

"Kevin has been around a bit, and been to other clubs and not done as well as he should have, but I still believe he could add a lot to us.

"Hopefully, we can come up with a deal which Kevin agrees is right and the club agrees is right."
