Burnley goalkeeper Danny Coyne has expressed a desire to leave Turf Moor in a loan move having recovered from injury.The Wales international has not played for over a year after suffering cruciate and medial ligament damage and with Burnley flying high in The Championship, boss Steve Cotterill is loath to change a winning team.
Dane Brian Jensen has impressed between the posts for The Clarets and with this in mind, Coyne feels the time is right to spend a spell away from his parent club.
"I've had a year off but I'm ready to try to get myself back to where I was before the injury," Coyne told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.
"It's been a frustrating 12 months but that is behind me now and I'm looking forward.
"John Toshack rang me a few times while I was out and it gave me a boost knowing he was still paying an interest even though I was unavailable.
"But now it feels like I am back to square one.
"It's great to be back in the squad, but realistically I know I cannot hope to play for Wales until I am playing for Burnley again.
"A loan move may be what I need to get a few games under my belt.
"I need regular football to get my competitive edge back."
