Russell blow for Canaries

NORWICH CITY midfielder Darel Russell will be out of action for six weeks after breaking his foot.

Russell sustained the injury during The Canaries' impressive 2-0 win over Reading on Wednesday night and Carrow Road boss Nigel Worthington confirmed he faces a spell of six weeks on the sidelines.

"Darel has broken a bone in his foot and will probably be out for at least six weeks as a result," Worthington told the club's official website.

"I feel for the lad as he has been very professional in his approach to both training and playing, and has come in and done a good job in the last couple of games."

"It's just one of those unfortunate bits of bad luck that you get in football."

The news is a blow for Worthington as Norwich prepare to welcome league leaders Portsmouth to Carrow Road this weekend in their top-of-the-table clash.
