Barnsley have confirmed the release of Chris Lumsdon.The midfielder has agreed terms with The Tykes over the remainder of his contract at Oakwell.
The former Sunderland star joined Barnsley in 2001 after impressing during a loan spell.
However, over the last three years Lumsdon has struggled to hold down a first team place and is now set to join Conference outfit Carlisle United.
