Whitmore set to sign

FORMER Hull City midfielder Theodore Whitmore looks set to sign for SPL side Livingston, as soon as his work permit arrives.

The 30-year-old Jamaican international signed for Hull back in October 1999, and played three seasons at Boothferry Park, before moving back to Jamaica after making 77 league appearances for The Tigers.

He was involved in a car accident back in January 2001, which saw the death of his international team-mate Steven Malcolm, but was subsequently cleared of manslaughter charges and signed for former club Seba United back in his homeland.

Seba United president Bruce Gaynor - who also manages Whitmore - confirmed earlier this year that the player wanted to move back to Europe and it seems as though the Jamaican legend, who has 114 international caps to his name, will restart his career in Scotland.

Livingston chairman Dominic Keane said: "We are waiting for Theodore's work permit and envisage no problems.

"If all goes well, we should have him in Scotland for the start of pre-season training."
