SCOTS PAIR RULED OUT OF LATVIA TEST

LEEDS UNITED defender Dominic Matteo and Celtic ace Jackie McNamara have both been forced to withdraw from the Scotland squad, for the World Cup qualifier against Latvia this weekend.

Matteo (pictured) picked up a knock during Leeds' 2-1 win over Ipswich Town on Sunday and is unfit enought to meet up with the squad.

Scotland boss Craig Brown is not fully aware of the injuries to the players and he admitted their loss is a blow.

"Their injuries are still being looked at but it is disappointing," said Brown.

Brown is unlikely to call up any replacements as he still has 23 members of his squad available for the game.
