Hungarian awaiting Leeds news

Zsolt Baranyos is awaiting news from Leeds to see whether he will be offered a deal.

Hungarian international midfielder Zsolt Baranyos is awaiting news from Leeds United to see whether he will be offered a contract.

The 29-year-old underwent a trial with the Elland Road club back in November and impressed manager Kevin Blackwell (pictured) during his time in West Yorkshire.

Baranyos was told Leeds were keen on his services and is now awaiting word from his representatives before deciding his next course of action.

"All I know is that I was told that Leeds want me," explained Baranyos to www.nb1.hu.

"I heard about the reported new owners of Leeds and the financial problems, but they've said that hasn't affected my situation.

"I'm looking forward to my agent's call as he will tell me what I can expect from the English side."

Meanwhile, Blackwell has spoken with John Oster after the on-loan winger was involved in a fracas in Durham and arrested and cautioned by Durham Police.

The Wales international's case was thrown out by Durham Police, but Leeds have still taken action of their own and now consider the matter closed.

"We sat down and talked to John and found out the facts," said Blackwell. "We told him that at Leeds United we cannot accept what he did.

"It was just a question of us having a chat with him and reminding him of his responsibilities. He has been dealt with and punished by the club and that's it."
