Talbot watches Barratt

Oxford boss Brian Talbot watched trialist Neil Barratt in reserve action.

Oxford boss Brian Talbot took the opportunity to run the rule over trialist Neil Barratt during United's reserves encounter with Southend on Wednesday.

The match finished in a draw despite the fact that The Shrimpers started the game with ten men, due to a delay caused to Daniel Woodward and Shaun Goater who were stuck in traffic.

Barratt played 73 minutes before being replaced, and the midfielder can have every reason to be satified with his display.

The U's fielded a strong side alongside Barratt, including Leo Roget, Rob Wolleaston and Jamie Brooks.

However, there was still no action for Mark E'Beyer, who was not risked as he continues to make a comeback from injury.
