Hatters record second win

Luton Town have defeated Swindon Town 3-2 at The County Ground.

Luton Town recorded their second straight win to start the new League One season with a 3-2 away triumph at Swindon Town.

Mike Newell's side took the lead on 23 minutes at The County Ground when on loan striker Rowan Vine was pulled back in Swindon's box by defender Sean O'Hanlon.

Club captain Kevin Nicholls scored from the spot to give The Hatters a 1-0 lead.

Luton doubled their advantage when Steve Robinson's free kick was unfortunately headed into his own goal by Rory Fallon on 36 minutes.

Andy King's side then made the match a contest on the stroke of half time when Sam Parkin pulled a goal back.

However, Luton would seal victory when Steve Howard (pictured) headed in from close range to make it 3-1.

Alan Reeves did net for Swindon on 65 minutes after heading Brian Howard's corner from the right to pull within a goal, but great goalkeeping from Luton's Marlon Beresford in the latter stages gave the visitors another three points.

Defeat for Swindon leaves them with no points to show from their first two matches to start the 2004/05 campaign.
