Williams makes Gulls move

Torquay have signed Marvin Williams on loan from Millwall until the end of the season.

Torquay have signed Marvin Williams on loan from Millwall until the end of the season.

The winger has been left out of the Millwall side in recent weeks and is keen to play more regularly, but Lions manager Willie Donachie admits he was reluctant to let him go.

"I told Marvin I did not want him to go but after not being included on the bench last Saturday, he felt he needed to start playing some first-team football," Donachie told the club's official website.

"I believe Marvin has a real future at Millwall because I love home-grown players and I see him as a great asset.

"Hopefully, when he returns to us, Marvin will be a better player for the experience."

Williams will go straight into the Torquay squad to face Wycombe at Plainmoor on Saturday but Millwall will have the option of recalling him after the first 28 days of the loan deal.
