Parton makes loan impact

Andy Parton has made an immediate impact on his debut for Stalybridge Celtic.

Andy Parton has made an immediate impact on his debut for Stalybridge Celtic, after joining on a one-month loan from League Two side Scunthorpe.

The 21-year-old left Glanford Park and scored twice on his Conference North debut as Stalybridge recorded a 2-2 draw with Moor Green.

Parton had seen his first team chances severely restricted under Brian Laws, and the loan move sees him link up again with boss John Reed.

The striker played under Reed during a similar loan spell at Harrogate last term, and Parton will be hoping that this latest opportunity allows him the chance to prove himself to Iron boss Laws.
