Chambers completes Forest switch

Northampton's Luke Chambers has rejoined his former boss Colin Calderwood.

Northampton defender Luke Chambers has rejoined former boss Colin Calderwood at Nottingham Forest.

Chambers moves for an undisclosed fee and the deal also includes a sell-on clause.

The terms of the deal prohibit Chambers from playing against his former club on Saturday week.

Northampton manager Stuart Gray said: "We are sorry to see Luke go but we feel this is another move that is in the best interests of the club and player.

"Luke is a young player with a lot of potential and he will feel this move allows him to build on the fantastic start he has made to his career.

"From our point of view, the club offered him an extension to his contract but he decided not to sign it and rather than take our chances in the summer at a tribunal we have decided to do a deal now on our terms.

"We were not looking for Luke to leave but with his contract running out we did not have much choice."
