FA Cup Round-Up

Chasetown earned a well-deserved replay after holding Oldham to a 1-1 draw on Sunday.

A grandstand finish at The Scholars had both sets of fans biting their finger-nails but the Midlands minnows will be delighted by the prospect of swelling their coffers further by making the trip to Boundary Park.

The home side got off to a dream start when unlucky Oldham keeper Chris Day saw Nick Harrison's shot rebound off him and into the back of the net.

But the celebrations were put on ice when David Eyres drew the League One club level just eight minutes later with an excellent finish following a one-two with Andy Liddell.

The winners of the tie will be rewarded with a home tie against high-flying League One outfit Brentford.

The day's other early kick-off saw Huddersfield destroy Welling's hopes of a giant-killing as they cruised to a comfortable 4-1 victory.

Andy Booth opened the scoring after 27 minutes before strike partner Danny Schofield (50) doubled the lead from the penalty spot.

Booth grabbed a second on 69 minutes, before Andy Holdsworth turned the victory into a rout, making it 4-0 with nine minutes remaining.

Chris Moore snared an equaliser for the non-leaguers but it was all in vain as Peter Jackson's men sailed into the second round.

Doncaster breezed past Blackpool by a 4-1 margin thanks to braces from Paul Heffernan (18, 72) and Michael McIndoe (53, 56) who scored twice from the penalty spot. Peter Clarke (90) bagged a last-gasp consolation goal with yet another spot-kick.

Halifax and Rushden will meet in a replay after Alun Armstrong had given Diamonds a dream start, scoring with just a minute gone, only to see that effort cancelled out by Chris Senior's close-range 44th minute effort.

And finally, Dean Windass (59) booked Bradford's place in the second round after Chris Greenacre's sixth minute goal had been nullified by Lee Crooks's long-range thunderbolt.
