The Southampton duo have become an important part of the squad since their arrival at Huish Park.
Best has scored three goals in his four starts, while Cranie's versatility has proved invaluable and is currently slotting in at right-back in the absence of the injured Mark Lynch.
Manager Russell Slade said he was delighted by the news.
"We've had the two contracts extended until 3rd February," Slade told the club's official website.
"They're on a 24 hour call back, and we are delighted that we've got them.
"They've settled in really well, and they are performing for us, playing week in week out, and they are an important part of the squad right now," added Slade.
