Jones handed Swans deal

Swansea manager Kenny Jackett has handed Owain Jones a one-year contract.

Swansea City manager Kenny Jackett has handed Owain Jones a one-year contract.

Jackett has been impressed with Jones' displays in pre-season and has now plumped up with a deal in a bid to fend off interest from Swindon and Tranmere.

"We'd settled on a month with Owain to begin with, but then Swindon and Tranmere made enquiries and said they wanted to talk to him," Jackett told the South Wales Evening Post.

"That made the situation a little different, and it was after Owain's display in the game at Forest Green Rovers on Tuesday that I was convinced I wanted to sign him up for the year."
