Gorman makes Knight enquiry

Northampton boss John Gorman has enquired about Swansea striker Leon Knight.

Northampton boss John Gorman has admitted making an enquiry for Swansea striker Leon Knight.

Knight has fallen out of favour at The Liberty Stadium despite an impressive scoring record, and was transfer listed by The Swans earlier in October.

Gorman is keen to sign the 24-year-old, and may decide to further discuss a deal when Swansea visit The Sixfields Stadium on Saturday.

However, League Two side Peterborough have already agreed a fee for Knight and Gorman has played down his chances of landing the forward.

"We did make an enquiry about Leon Knight but whenever a player becomes available I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't think we should have a bit more of a look," he explained.

"We're always looking for extra players and when a player becomes available we are just doing our job when we maybe make an enquiry.

"I made an enquiry but Leon is a Swansea player and I don't really want to say anything else about it, and the fact we are making enquiries is no disrespect to the lads here because I'm very happy with what we've got."
