Goodison given green light

Tranmere's Ian Goodison has been granted permission to sign a new one-year-deal.

Tranmere Rovers defender Ian Goodison has been granted a work permit allowing him to sign a new one-year-deal with the League One side.

An initial work permit for the 33-year-old Jamaican was turned down, but Rovers boss Ronnie Moore now has Goodison on board for the new season.

The former Hull City stopper signed for the Prenton Park club back in 2004 and has featured regularly over the past two seasons.

The news is a boost to Moore, who would have feared losing the experienced and influential centre back.
