Schofield sidelined

HUDDERSFIELD have been dealt a blow with the news that striker Danny Schofield is set for ten weeks on the sidelines.

The player has been told he will need hernia surgery that, combined with a pubis injury, will keep him out until late March.

Town manager Mick Wadsworth feels last season`s top scorer has not been in the same form this term, and hopes the surgery will help him back to full fitness.

Wadsworth said: "We had some very bad news that Danny Schofield will be out for 10 weeks.

"He is having two operations tomorrow, would you believe. He needs a hernia operation and he has a problem with a tendon in the pubis area which is low between the legs around the pelvic region.

"I do feel that he has never been right all season, I have said that.

"He's never done what we would have liked him to do, and I have always felt that there has been something not quite right and I have been proved right in that sense."
