Buckley: No done deals for duo

Alan Buckley is eyeing a move for Leyton Orient's Paul Connor.

Alan Buckley is eyeing a move for Leyton Orient's Paul Connor, but the Grimsby boss is adamant there has been no contact from Huddersfield regarding Tom Newey.

Orient boss Martin Ling revealed that three clubs are in talks with Connor, with Buckley confirming The Mariners are an interested party.

But Buckley denies making a formal bid for the former Middlesbrough trainee.

"He is a player we are aware of and are interested in, but there has been no such offer from us at all. I do like the player and I have spoken to his agent," admitted Buckley.

Buckley dismissed rumours that Huddersfield have made an approach for Newey.

He added: "That is news to me. The only contact I have had with [Terriers boss] Peter Jackson is his best wishes when I took on the job in November."
