Town announce three more departures

CHELTENHAM TOWN have announced three more names that will be departing Whaddon Road at the end of the season.

Neil Howarth, Tony Naylor and Lee Williams are out of contract in the summer and they have joined Russell Milton in being told they will not be given new deals.

"I have now had to start telling people that their contracts will not be renewed next season," said manager Bobby Gould.

"Of all aspects of management this is the one job that nobody enjoys as you have great empathy towards the players concerned and also towards their families.

"This is the case concerning Russell Milton, Neil Howarth, Tony Naylor and Lee Williams, all players who I know have given their very best for this football club.

"The achievements of those players will be clear in the minds of you, the loyal supporters, and noted down in the history of success here.

"We wish them all well, we wish them success in their new pastures and hope that they look back upon their footballing days at Whaddon Road with happy memories.

"Having departed 14 clubs myself as a player I have always had the mental strength to believe in my own ability. I'm sure that those players will fall into the same category."
