Bower inks Bantams deal

Bradford City defender Mark Bower has agreed a new deal with the club until 2009.

Bradford City defender Mark Bower has agreed a new deal that keeps him at Valley Parade until 2009.

The 25-year-old stopper has enjoyed a fine season at the heart of the Bantams' backline this term, appearing in every game.

Several Championship sides were thought to be pondering over a summer swoop for Bower, but Bradford boss Colin Todd is delighted the player has pledged his future to the West Yorkshire outfit.

He concluded: "Other clubs could have been looking at Mark because of the form he has been in this season, but he feels that Bradford are going places and I'm delighted that he wants to be part of that.

"Everything has been agreed and Mark has shown great loyalty to the club."
