Silkmen suffer Symes blow

On-loan Macclesfield striker Michael Symes has picked up an ankle injury.

Macclesfield's pre-season preparations have been hit with the news that on-loan striker Michael Symes has picked up an injury.

The 21-year-old joined The Silkmen on loan from Bradford for six months in June.

However his career at The Moss Rose Ground has now been curtailed after picking up an ankle problem.

Symes is expected to be sidelined until the start of September as Macclesfield look to build on their play-off heartbreak from last season.

The former Everton trainee made his mark with the Bantams with two goals in five league starts, and will look to accrue more first team experience after recovering from the blow.
