Lee fumes at referee

ROTHERHAM striker Alan Lee has slammed referee Andy Hall for his handling of Saturday's clash against Burnley.

Lee was hauled off by Millers manager Ronnie Moore midway through the second half to prevent the fiery forward being sent off.

The 24-year-old had already been booked for a stupid challenge but Lee claims he was being victimised by match official Hall.

"The referee was winding me up a lot," fumed Lee.

"I'm glad the gaffer took me off. He certainly stopped me getting sent off.

"The ref was so inconsistent and the way he spoke to the players throughout the game made no sense at all."

Millers chief Moore backed Lee's opinion of the referee's performance but feels his striker has to share a portion of the blame.

Moore said: "I thought the referee was after Alan but he didn't help himself by getting booked for a crazy, unprofessional shove in the back."
