Barry Corr has told skysports.com of his determination to make a mark for Swindon.Corr joined Swindon on loan from Sheffield Wednesday earlier in the week and will stay at The County Ground until the end of the season.
He is keen to take his chance and repay the faith of Robins manager Paul Sturrock, who first signed the Irishman from Leeds United when he was manager of Sheffield Wednesday.
"I feel I owe him a great deal. He gave me the opportunity at Hillsborough and I was grateful for that at the time," Corr told skysports.com.
"I was injured on and off and so things never went that well for me, but he's given me another chance now and I owe him for that.
"And if I can help him by getting Swindon out of the division, then that would be great."
Swindon have slipped out of the automatic promotion places following a run of two wins in seven games and Corr admits he could struggle to make an impact straight away.
"I haven't played many games this season so I know I'm not as fit as I should be," he explained.
"I'm sure the gaffer will know how to get the best out of me and hopefully I can get back to the level I know I'm capable of."
Sturrock also suggested there were similarities between Corr and Liverpool striker Peter Crouch.
"He reminded me of another signing of mine, Peter Crouch," said Sturrock.
"He's the same shape and style, but he's got a lot to learn yet and there are a lot of rough edges to him.
"But he's willing and honest and I like that type of player."
