Injury problems at Gay Meadow

Shrewsbury Town are on the verge of an injury crisis with seven players carrying knocks.

Shrewsbury Town are on the verge of an injury crisis as seven first teamers find themselves in the treatment room.

Richard Evans is struggling with a hamstring injury whilst Jamie Tolley has broken his nose and both Dave Edwards and Sagi Burton have ankle troubles.

Also carrying injuries are Glynn Hurst, Marco Adaggio and Joe Hart, the latter having played through the pain during his side's 2-2 draw with Carlisle.

Meanwhile, Ben Herd is facing a three-match ban after being sent-off in the game with Carlisle, however the club have lodged an appeal as they believe Herd did not touch the ball with his hand.

"I looked at the incident and it's clear that there was no handball and we are going to appeal," confirmed manager Gary Peters.

"Hopefully The FA will see it the same way as us and will do justice for Ben Herd."

The increasing problems have meant call-ups to the first team for youngsters Steven Leslie and George Hughes.
