Aberdeen are believed to be interested in re-signing Esson and Shrews boss Gary Peters insists the club will not stand in his way if he wants to move on.
"Ryan's agent rang up to ask if there would be a fee if there was a chance of a move back to Aberdeen," Peters told the Shropshire Star.
"We have said we would not stand in Ryan's way by putting a fee on his head."
