Magpies want to keep Wilson

Notts County's Kelvin Wilson has been attracting attention from Premiership sides.

Notts County defender Kelvin Wilson has been attracting consistent attention from Premiership sides, and player-boss Ian Richardson has admitted he faces a struggle to hold onto the starlet.

The 19-year-old stopper has not yet made 50 professional appearances, although his versatility and impressive displays have seen a host of clubs monitor his progress.

County are struggling at the wrong end of League Two, and with no prospect of promotion it looks as if Wilson will be leaving sooner rather than later.

Richardson (pictured) is counting his blessings that he still has the young stopper at his disposal, as losing the player would be a big blow to the club who are currently just nine points off relegation.

"Kelvin is getting more confident and is adapting to his role more now at centre half, which is brilliant," Richardson told the club's official website.

"It is not his natural position but he is doing really well. Every home game we have we are having Premiership scouts watching him, and I am very surprised he is still with us, I'll be honest there.

"We want to keep him, of course we do, because Kelvin is a fantastic player who brings a lot to our side."
